FYI

I checked out Wikipedia for "independent travel" and I found the following:

Definition

The definition is broad but it tends to refer to people over 35, often, though not necessarily, of above average income who prefer to travel in small groups or typically as couples. They eschew mass tourism and the package holiday concept promoted by travel or tour operators, in favour of a more individualistic and fluid approach to travel.

Note: My definition is older, being created thirty years before this one. Ergo my definition is the correct one.

I agree your definition makes more sense and I think you should go over to Wikipedia and update that particular entry. We have to let these young whippersnappers know age takes precedence, n'est pas? Besides, you should get credit for first coining that phrase, thirty years ago, back in the olden, Dark Ages, prior to the rise and recent fall of the so-called 'wise' species.
