Bus stop

“Move to the rear of the bus.” the bus driver commands. No one moves.

“Exit by the rear doors only.” driver says as the old women exit front.

“I got it somewhere, I gotta put my purse.” says a fumbling woman hunting for a token through a series of bags, plastic and leather.

It is rush hour. Packed street car. And a woman pushing the big plastic grey moulded stroller onto the car when every one has gotten on. Trapped.

For this I pay $110 a month.

Could be worse, a lot worse...

Have you ever seen a bus or even a train in Asia or South America? You should be relieved, for that $110 a month, you're riding on the inside of the transport!

I take it you haven't taken the TTC recently. You can't tell if you're in Toronto. It could be another country.

@Gord Campbell

No, I haven't ridden the TTC lately but it sounds like things haven't changed much in the past dozen years or so. I used to ride the red rocket, every day at least twice a day.

In the morning before dawn, it's true nearly all of my fellow riders seemed to be of the Asian persuasion but in the early evening during rush hour, I was reminded of sausages being overstuffed in Germany.

Obviously, our perceptions the many joys of the TTC develop from our individual perspectives...

...and the time of day, of course.
