Thursday

For the last two months, I kept thinking that Christmas Day was on Wednesday. Planned everything around that fact. Today I find out that not only does it occur on Thursday but after fifty some years I still can't read a calendar.

Oh doesn't something like this really fuck one's head up.

I'll admit my head is fucked up but I don't think it has anything to do with the way days are arranged on a calendar.

Back in the olden, corporate cycle in Toronto, I would have been thrilled at Xmas Day occurring on a Thursday because that means, if you booked holidays for the 29th, 30th, 31st and 2nd, you'd end up with 11 days off in a row --- a very nice little mini-holiday in the winter and it only cost you four vacation days.

Unfortunately, as part of the equation this year I have to make a wild-ass assumption you still have a job.

Not everyone does, not anymore...

Merry Xmas, especially to all the geniuses who run things in Canada and who, of course, still have their jobs, most especially the 18 new Conservative senators, just appointed by Stephen Harper when he though we'd be too busy and too preoccupied to notice.

It's a great Xmas present for your friends, Steve! You're very generous!

Oh, yeah, that's the taxpayers who are being so generous, isn't it? You're just being a scumbag as usual, aren't you, Steve?
